micro-RIE places the whole works — microphone, processor and receiver wiring — into a shell smaller than a coffee bean, tucked behind the ear with only a hair-thin wire showing. What's left is your own natural sound, restored.
One wire, one open canal, one very ordinary-looking ear.
The processor rests in the fold behind your ear. A thin wire runs forward and down. The receiver — the part that actually delivers sound — sits inside the canal itself, closer to the eardrum than any other style allows.

All the electronics sit above and behind the ear, in the natural crease where glasses arms already rest.
A single hair-thin lead
Instead of a sound tube, a fine wire carries the electrical signal down to the receiver, following the shape of your ear.
Placed nearer the eardrum
Moving the receiver into the canal shortens the distance sound has to travel, which is part of why it sounds less "processed."
Your canal stays unblocked
A soft, vented dome keeps the ear canal open, so your own voice and low-pitched sounds still come through naturally.
